In this episode of the Operation Self Reset podcast, Jake is talking with Scott Lesnick.
Scott is a professional speaker who originally started working for Calvin Klein in New York after college. When that didn’t work out, he moved back home to Milwaukee. He set out trying to figure out what he really wanted to do with his life. Scott knew he wanted to become a professional speaker, so he started out by writing books on the topic and by taking on free speaking jobs while still keeping his day job.
A lot of us let fear stop us from doing what we want in life or else we let what other people think stop us. Sometimes people react badly to our biggest dreams. But Scott reminds us that if we’re okay with our goals in life and the people who mean the most to us are okay with it, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
Scott shares with us his thoughts on how to move forward in our dreams despite what everyone else may think and how to know when you’re ready for your own self-reset. He also shares some tips for preparing for public speaking, and how imagining yourself being successful leads to actual success.
Wrapping up this episode, Scott talks about the motivation behind writing his book, Kidjacked – A Father’s Story, and how he did whatever he had to do in order to get his kids back after they were taken to the Middle East. Listen in to this incredible story and how he became the guy who never gives up.
