This week Jake is discussing attitude.
Your attitude, like everything else in life, is a choice. Your self reset is a choice. You can choose to reset or not. So you can choose to change your attitude and then your life. We find so many other things to blame our attitudes on. We blame it on the economy, our parents, the weather, the world in general. But we need to take responsibility for our own attitudes and stop finding other things to blame it on. You can choose to change your attitude and make the outcome of your day different than it would have been if you’d kept that bad attitude.
Your body language can say a lot about your attitude. You can portray a different attitude by changing the way you hold your body. Amy Cuddy presented a study on body language in a TED Talk with some people standing in a position of power for five minutes before walking into another room while others stood in a more relaxed state. Behind the scenes, a group of people who couldn’t hear the audio watched the people and took notes of their stances. The people watching were asked if they would hire each person they watched and it turned out that they would hire the 10 people who stood in a high position of power while the other 10 weren’t scored as high. Your body language can change your attitude and make you feel as confident and happy as the body language you reflect.
You have the power to take responsibility for the face you show the world. Take control, reset your attitude, and from there reset your life. So listen in as Jake talks about how to do just that.
