In this episode of the Operation Self Reset podcast, Jake is talking with Green Beret Robert Lewis.
Robert comes from a long line of military men in his family. He originally never planned to join the military and went off to college. Then September 11th happened and served as a wake up call to Robert that the military was where he actually should be. Following the advice of his family members, he finished his education first and then headed off to basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, after graduation.
Even though he was from a military family, enlisting and going through training taught Robert a lot about himself. He was surprised to find that he had a lot more potential, strength, and endurance than he knew once he cleared his mind and focused on the task ahead. Robert reminds us that this can be true even for those of us not in the military. If we clear our minds and focus on our tasks, we can push ourselves past the obstacles we think are in our way and achieve anything we want. You can choose to hide from your fears, or you can just do it and move ahead in life.
So how do you move forward? Robert explains how to set smart goals that can help motivate you and get you moving forward. Stay accountable to yourself and track your progress to push you harder in your quest.
