Putting Money Back in Your Pocket

Operation Self Reset Episode 60: Putting Money Back in Your Pocket

In this episode of the Operation Self Reset podcast, Jake is talking with Bob Wheeler, author of The Money Nerve.

The idea for The Money Nerve came from Bob’s experiences in working with people on their taxes. He found that often, the meetings turned into therapy sessions. His clients would often get upset over their money issues and they believed they were the only people in the world who couldn’t get their finances under control. Bob wanted to help people understand that they’re not alone in money issues, so he began working on what would become The Money Nerve.

Bob explains that we all have certain things we believe about ourselves and money. Some people make mistakes with money when they’re young, so they believe for the rest of their lives that they’re terrible with money. These beliefs are often the things holding us back from learning better money management. We also let things like fear of success or guilt of living comfortably keep us from making good money decisions.

Listen in as Bob explains how we can turn our money struggles around to make the smarter financial decisions we’re hoping for.

Here’s what Jake and Bob talked about in this episode:

  • How to let go of our money beliefs
  • The fear of money
  • Understanding where your money goes
  • Evaluate what your true goals are
