In this episode of the Operation Self Reset podcast, Jake is talking with author Hal Elrod.
Hal experienced an event that completely changed his life. An accident with a drunk driver left him so injured that he actually died for six minutes. Even after being revived and waking from a coma, he still faced obstacles when doctors said he would never walk again. Weeks later, Hal took the first step of his new life. He used the things he learned when pulling himself out of the rock bottom moments of his life to write his first book to teach others how to change their own lives.
Later, Hal was back on top of the world, feeling great and living life as a success coach. But he began battling with depression and feeling like he was failing even though he worked to teach others how to succeed. It was a talk with a friend of his that made him realize that if you want things to change, you have to be willing to make that change. You can’t become a level 10 person if you’re not willing to change yourself in order to reach that higher level.
So Hal set out to change himself in order to change his life and reach that level 10 he was aiming for. He studied what other successful people were doing and what they claimed were the secrets behind their success. He found that the tips for success were usually the same: exercise, meditation, affirmations, visualization, reading, and journaling. Hal realized he didn’t do any of these, so he decided to find time to fit them into each day. Listen in as Hal tells us how these practices worked for him and whether they might work for you to help you find success in your own life.
